Abstract

1,179,026. Porous-film coated fabric. C. R. KEMPER. 14 March, 1967, No. 12001/67. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] A porous polyvinyl chloride sheet may be formed on an open weave sheet of fabric by applying to the fabric a mixture comprising a particulate water-soluble material, a polyvinyl chloride plastisol and sodium tetraborate crystals containing water of crystallisation, curing at an elevated temperature to effect gelling and to release the water of crystallisation (to form pores) and leaching out the particulate water soluble material and sodium tetraborate material with an aqueous medium. Sodium chloride is the preferred water-soluble material. Fabrics such as cotton, nylon, rayon or other suitable flexible material may be incorporated in the product.
