1369220 Coating apparatus: stiffening clothing STOTZ & CO 31 Aug 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 40621/71 Headings B2E and B2L A stiffening ply for clothing is produced by applying a thermoplastic powder to a flat support material by filling the recesses of a recessed plate with powder and transferring the powder to the support material by pressing the material against the plate and heating the powder simultaneously with or after the application of the powder to the material at least until it softens. The powder may be polyethylene, polyamide or polyacrylonitrile. The support material may be woven, non-woven or knitted fabric.
