Abstract

117,883. Peckham, C. F. Jan. 10, 1918. Fusible sprinkler heads.-The fusible member of an automatic sprinkling or analogous apparatus comprises a thin cylinder 1 of fusible metal, through which passes a rod 4 provided at one end with a head 3 engaging a countersunk hole in the head 2 of the cylinder. The cylinder is connected to one member 6 of the collapsible strut, the other member 10 being held by means of the nut engaging the screwed end of the rod 4. The cylinder is thermally and electrically insulated from the strut member 6 and rod 4 by means of insulating-material 7, 5 and is encased in a non- corrosive heat-conducting material 8.
