Abstract

1,177,752. Vehicle rear view mirrors. D. SINCLAIR. 16 Jan., 1967 [4 Nov., 1965], No. 46815/65. Heading B7J. A rear or forward view vehicle mirror comprises, a plastics triangular prism 1 provided with a reflecting face 6 and contained by plates 7, 8, 9, a stem 3 extending from the plate 9 and through a bearing 10 in a cylinder 15, a lever 17 carried by the stem 3, a spring 12 urging the lever 17 to one position, and a cable 4 which may be pulled to move the lever 17 and rotate the prism so that either a rear or forward view may be obtained as in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The prism may be acute or obtuse angled and its reflecting face may be curved to give a panoramic view.
