Abstract

1,176,745. Garden frame. H. ENDER. 26 Feb., 1968 [27 Feb., 1967], No. 9195/68. Heading A1E. A garden frame of rectangular box shape having hollow, preferably transparent or translucent, plastics side wall members 20 which are interconnected by connector members 22, 30 having ground posts 24. In a preferred embodiment each post 24 is stiffened by a metal rod (64), Fig. 6 (not shown), a connector member 22 being provided at each corner of the frame, and at least one hollow plastics window frame 26, each of which is hinged at one side wall member and may be secured to the opposite side wall member by a closing mechanism 28. Each side wall member is made up of a number of side wall parts 32 arranged one above the other and having interengaging portions. An upper member 42 is fitted over the top of each side wall member and is held in position by the head (66) of the metal rod (64), and has an upwardly extending strip 48 having an eyelet 50. The window frame also has eyelets in line with the eyelet 50 so that a hinge pin can be introduced. The window is held closed by a clip 28. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown) the window has a stay for holding it open in several intermediate positions. The plastics frame may be covered with coloured plastics sheet.
