Abstract

1,176,457. Sealant compositions. BOSTIK Ltd. 11 April, 1967 [12 April, 1966], No. 15971/66. Heading C3R. A sealant composition is formed by mixing a first part comprising a curable liquid polymer having terminal mercaptan groups and a second part comprising a curing agent for the polymer, the composition also comprising an aryl sulphone as a plasticizer for the cured polymer. The aryl sulphone may be in either part. Other plasticizers and solvents may be included. In examples liquid polysulphide polymers are mixed with xylyl naphthyl sulphone and tolyl phenyl sulphone, and cured with lead dioxide; the compositions also contain chlorinated biphenyls, dimethylol-p-cresol, toluol, methyl ethyl ketone, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, stearic acid, lead stearate and carbon black.
