Abstract

1,175,774. Sulphur hexafluoride. MONTE. CATINI EDISON S.p.A. 31 Jan., 1968 [1 Feb., 1967], No. 5100/68. Heading C1A. Sulphur hexafluoride is manufactured by reacting gaseous fluorine with molten sulphur flowing over the internal surfaces of vertical tubular reactors. The gaseous products so obtained may be alkaline washed, dried and passed through molecular sieves or activated carbon to absorb impurities. The purified gas is condensed and stored.
