[Also in Division B8] Apparatus for transporting pressed products of generally rectangular form from a press comprises an endless conveyer on to which the pressed products are deposited on discharge from the press and which is of sufficient length for the moisture content of the article to be reduced sufficiently for it to be handled on reaching the end of the conveyer and transfer means for effecting transfer of the products from the press so that they stored on edge on the conveyer. Preferably, the transfer means comprises a platform movable from a loading (preferably horizontal) position to an unloading (preferably vertical) position and a retractable stop to support the article on the platform. As shown, the platform 1 is mounted on a framework 2 movable vertically relative to trolley 3 on pistons and cylinders 14 and 15. The platform 1 is pivotable about hinge pin 4, by an hydraulic cylinder 7, 8 acting on angular extension 6 of the platform. A retractable stop 9 sliding in brackets 10 under the action of piston and cylinder 12, 13 hold an article 23 on the platform while it is moved from a loading position as shown to a vertical unloading position immediately above the belt 24.
