Abstract

1,175,544. Slow-wave structures. ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO. Ltd. 6 April, 1967 [11 June, 1966], No. 26104/66. Heading H1D. A slow-wave structure for a travelling wave tube is constituted by a stack formed of ring members C, Fig. 3, having inwardly directed projections C1 with apertures C2 formed near their innermost ends, alternating with, and spaced by annular members from, plates B, Fig. 2, which have a central beam passage aperture B1 and a ring of apertures B2 which in the assembled structure are aligned with apertures C2. Conductive, axially extending members are held within the apertures C2 and pass through but do not contact the apertures B2 (Fig. 4, not shown). The conductive members may be rods, angle bars, strips, a plurality of wires, or non-conductive members electrolytically coated with metal. Specification 1,113,767 is referred to.
