Abstract

1,174,479. Fuel injectors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Nov.8, 1967 [Nov. 9, 1966], No. 50692/67. Heading F1B. [Also in Division H2] In an electromagnetically operated fuel injector with an armature 12 carrying the valve 47 and a stationary core 6 carrying the coil 4, the valve loading spring 24 is mounted in a bore 13 in the core 6 and seats against an adjustable abutment 25 sensor-threaded in the bore 13. The end turn of the spring 24 encircles a projection 28 on the abutment 25 and its lower end is a tight fit in a bore 30 in the armature 12. The core 6 has slots 11 running to its lower end whilst slots 44 in the armature stop short of its upper end. The coil 4 is mounted on a nylon former 3, into which the electrical contacts 31 for the coil are moulded, the upper ends of the contacts being embedded in a thermoplastic cap 41 with a connecting socket 40. The seating face 47 of the valve has two portions of different cone angles to give live contact with the seat 46.
