Abstract

In a domestic blender and liquidizer a rotatable shaft 21 and blade 13 are supported in an annular member 25 having two nuts 33, 35 below the bottom. 11 of the jar. A half-ring 37 is pivoted between the arms 39, 41 of a U- shaped lever 43; when the half-ring 37 is placed between the nuts 33, 35 and the lever 43 rotated upwards, the abutment 51 bears against the nut 35 to tension the ring, while the cam locking surfaces 47 or 53 bear on the underside of the jar to draw the body 25 and compress the seal ring 30. The position of the nuts 33, 35 on the member 25 may be adjusted to suit the thickness of the jar.
