Abstract

1,174,056. Agricultural implements. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. 13 Dec., 1966 [24 Dec., 1965], No. 55888/66. Heading AID. A delivery mechanism arranged to supply material from a supply trough 7 to a centrifugal distributer 14 comprises a mechanism arranged to sense the weight of the container 13 of the distributer and its contents and a control mechanism coupled with the sensing mechanism in such a way that it will place a delivery mechanism 19 in operation when the contents of the container 13 falls below a predetermined value. As shown the distributer is supported on levers 10 which are mounted on a shaft 9 which co-operates with a spring 56 which reacts against the weight of material in the container 13 to cause a lever 22 connected to a linkage 23 to move in an anti-clockwise direction so that a roller 31 contacts a cam 32 which causes material to be fed from the delivery mechanism 19 to the container 13. The increasing weight in the container 13 causes the levers 10 to move in a clockwise direction until the pin of the spring 56 is balanced and the roller 31 moves out of contact with the arm and the flow of material to the container 13 ceases. An electrically operated sensing mechanism may be provided in the container 13 and may be arranged to switch on the drive of the delivery mechanism when the material in the container 13 falls below a predetermined level.
