Abstract
1,173,214. Substituted pyrazolones. ILFORD Ltd. 30 May, 1968 [12 July, 1967], No. 27038/67. Heading C2C. [Also in Division G2] Substituted pyrazolones of the general formula where at least two of X 1 , X 2 and X 3 are bromine or chlorine atoms, the third X being a hydrogen atom when it is not a bromine or chlorine atom and R is an alkyl group containing from 11 to 17 carbon atoms, may be prepared by reacting a hydrazine of the general formula with a ketoester of the formula R.CO.CH 2 .COOC 2 H 5 . Examples describe the preparation of 1-(3 : 4- dichlorophenyl) - 3 - heptadecyl - 5 - pyrazolone and the corresponding 3 : 5-dichloro- and 3 : 4 : 5-trichloro compounds.
