Abstract
1,173,070. Plant for porous concrete articles with hollow spaces. W. LANZ. 1 June, 1967 [8 June, 1966],, No. 25332/67. Heading B5A. Building elements of porous concrete with hollow spaces are made by placing mould walls on a mould base, filling the mould with unfoamed concrete, inserting mould partitions and cores, passing the moulds to an unloading station during which time the concrete foams and stabilizes, and removing the cores, mould partitions and mould sides, which are returned to the starting point, the concrete elements being left on the mould bases to harden fully. As shown, mould bases 3 are fed on to a working table 1 and moved stepwise by piston 2 to position B where the mould sides are added. Concrete components from containers 11, 12 and 13 are mixed in mixer 6, a blowing agent is added from container 15, and the unfoamed mixture passes into the mould at C. The mould is moved on to position D where the mould divider and core assembly 8 is placed into the filled mould (position D). From there the mould is moved continuously along conveyer 9 to the unloading station 16, the transit time being sufficient for the concrete to foam and become self supporting. The moulds are passed under a knife blade 18 which levels the concrete with the top of the mould and the mould division and core and the mould sides are then lifted off and placed on conveyers 23 and 24 respectively. The mouldings on mould bases 3 are stacked at stations 19 and 20 and are removed to storage for setting. The mould sides and partition are cleansed at 25, greased preferably with a spray of a fat-oil mixture at 26 and returned to the loading station. The foamed concrete mix used preferably contains 32-39 wt. per cent cement, 39-32 wt. per cent sand, 25-30 wt. per cent water and at least 0-5 wt. per cent expanding agent, the mixture having a temperature of 28-35‹ C.
