1,172,267. Inflatable escape slideway apparatus; inflatable craft. MITSUBISHI DENKI K.K. 15 Feb., 1967 [15 Feb., 1966; 17 June, 1966; 5 Aug., 1966], No. 7320/67. Headings B7A and B7J. An inflatable escape slideway apparatus for ships or buildings, comprises a slide unit S including a helical balloon 14 upon which evacuees may slide. An inflatable raft R comprising sailcloth sandwiched in tension between toroidal balloons 44, 46 may be articulated to the unit S via an inflatable connection 54, 50. Two such slide units S<SP>1</SP> and S<SP>11</SP> may be interconnected (Fig. 6).
