Abstract

[Also in Division F2] Flow of condensate from steam trap chamber 22 is controlled by a valve 18 engaged by the forked free end 26 of a U-shaped compound bi-metal plate having its other end anchored at 36. The plate comprises oppositely acting portions 32, 34 which together produce valve movements corresponding with the temperature/pressure curve for saturated steam. A spring 40 retains end 26 in engagement with the valve stem throughout the range of deflection of the plate, and an adjustable stop 44 limits this deflection.
