117,133. Fisher, A. W. July 5, 1917. Teeth, artificial.-The upper and lower plates of dental articulators are provided with clamps for securing the plaster models detachably and adjustably. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the lower plate c, provided with two fixed rubber-shod jaws e<1> and a rubber-shod jaw n, connected to an adjusting-screw q by a ball-and-socket joint, is formed with upstanding brackets d to which a platform b carrying the upper arm a is pivoted at c. The arm a is slotted to pass over a screwthreaded stud i on the platform b and is secured by a nut k. Fine adjustment is obtained by means of a set-screw a<3>. The arm a carries by means of a ball-and-socket joint an upper plate g provided with fixed and movable rubber-shod jaws g<1>, m. The jaws may be formed with a number of projections instead of being shod with rubber. The usual adjusting-screw p is provided. Figs. 4 and 7 show a modification of similar construction but in which the fine adjustment screw is omitted and the platform b is pivoted to the brackets d by pivot screws c<1> which are grooved at c<2> so that, when partly unscrewed, the grooves coincide with the holes in the lugs b<1> and allow a certain amount of lateral movement between the upper and lower plates.
