Abstract

1,170,869. Break spinning. VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT LEGKOGO I TEXTILNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA. 7 March, 1968, No. 11095/68. Heading D1D. In an open end spinning device the fibre inlet 6 in the cover 3 of the housing 2 is provide with a take off duct 11 adjacent the duct (4), see Fig. 2 not shown, through which air is drawn from the spinning chamber to pass to a main air exhaust duct (5). A gate valve is provided so that during normal spinning the spinning chamber is connected to the main air exhaust duct while duct 11 is closed and so that if the thread breaks the gate is moved to close the spinning chamber duct and connect duct 11 to the main air exhaust duct so that the fibres being fed into inlet 6, bypass the spinning chamber, the clogging of which is thus prevented. Yarn breakage is sensed by a detector 10 above the yarn outlet 8, the detector operating a solenoid which shifts the valve gate. Air 5 still drawn into outlet tube 8 which thus facilitates feeding back of the yarn end which when tensioned operates detector 10 to shift the valve gate to the position for normal operation.
