Abstract

1,169,019. Dust covers for garments; bags. CREST LOCK CO. Inc. 2 Nov., 1966 [1 April, 1966], No. 49086/66. Headings A4G and A4X. [Also in Division E2] A suspension hook 18, swivel-jointed to a metal base 36 riveted to an end wall of a garment bag, is retained in an out-ofuse position by manually releasable engagement with a flange 64 of the base when the bag is folded on a mid-transverse line to form a carry bag. A domed turret 26, rotatably retained in a collar 40 by a dished cap 30, has a radial slot 34 for passage of the hook shank 20. A head 24 of the shank and a hollow cylindrical fitting 54, which slides on the shank, are urged apart by a spring 52 into frictional engagement with the inner surface of the turret to form a locking means maintaining the hook in engagement with the flange 64 and releasable for movement of the hook to the vertical position to engage a support rail, the hook being maintained in vertical position by spring- urged frictional engagement of the head 24 and fitting 54 with the cap 30 and the inner surface of the turret, respectively. A skirt 54 engages the head 24 to prevent crushing of the spring when the loaded bag is suspended by the hook.
