Abstract

1,168,409. Draught &c. door sealing strips. B. F. GOODRICH CO. 12 June, 1968 [12 June, 1967], No. 27976/68. Heading E1J. A one piece plastics extruded draught &c. excluder strip for mounting on a door frame 20 to provide a seal with a door 10 has a basic cross section of Z-shape with the crossbars 22, 24 extending at right angles to the web 23 which is flat with parallel faces, and a sealing strip 25 projects from the cross bar 24 and an offset portion 22a on the other cross-bar 22 is provided for mounting the strip on the frame as by screws and with an integral tongue 28, the tongue 28 and strip 25 being on the sides of the respective crossbars adjacent to the web 23. The bar 22 is integrally connected to the web by a U-section portion 11, which, in the case of the head piece of the door frame is omitted, but the web is continued beyond the cross-bar 22 and turned upwardly to form a water collecting and drain channel. Rib 26 affords a rigid surface against which the door 10 may be held and strip 25 and tongue 28 are of softer plastics e.g. P.V.C. than the basic Z-section, the whole being extruded in one operation. -
