Abstract
1,167,465. Wells. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP. 8 Feb., 1968, No. 6311/68. Heading E1F. In a method of producing hydrocarbons from an underground formation using wells located at the vertices and on the sides of a triangle and a well located therewithin, fluid is introduced into the formation through the wells located at the vertices and hydrocarbons are withdrawn from the wells located on the sides until breakthrough thereat of the fluid, and then fluid is introduced through the side wells and hydrocarbons withdrawn from the well located within the triangle. Alternatively fluid may be initially introduced through the well located within the triangle and hydrocarbons withdrawn from at least the side wells, and then fluid is introduced through the side wells and hydrocarbons withdrawn from the wells at the vertices. The triangle may be an equilateral triangle, or an isosceles triangle with the tangent of the equal angles being .5. The method may be used for primary or secondary production and the fluid may be water or gas.
