Abstract

1,209,259. Wells &c. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP. 21 June, 1968 [23 June, 1967], No. 29851/68. Heading E1F. In a method of secondary recovery from a formation having injection and production wells B, A respectively, the thickness H of the formation at the injection well is greater than the thickness h at the production well. After break through of injecting fluid (water or gas) into the well A, a further well A' is produced, the production from the well A continuing or being stopped. The wells may form part of a five-spot pattern, B representing one or both wells of a side of the pattern, A the central well, and A' one or both wells of the opposing side of the pattern. The invention may be applied to four units of the five spot pattern.
