Abstract

1,167,422. Refuse bins. CROMPTON, NETTLEFOLD STENMAN Ltd. 14 Aug., 1968 [16 Sept., 1967], No. 42316/67. Heading A4A. A cylindrical refuse bin 1 has a projecting lip 2 around its upper periphery and is provided with a lid having a rim with a downwardly extending portion 4 to fit over the the upper edge of the bin, and a further frusto-conical extension 5 terminating in a further downwardly extending portion 6 to fit over lip 2. A plurality of inwardly facing ribs 9 may be provided. The bottom may be provided with a downwardly extending circumferential flange on which the bin stands and may further be provided with a recess or cut-away portion to serve as a hand-grip. The lid also may be recessed to form a handle.
