Abstract

116,706. Constan. P. A. J. M., (Assignee of Constan (nÚe Jeannaire), M.). May 29, 1917, [Convention date]. Sectional vessels. - Ships are propelled or towed by means of a stern "thruster" which is coupled to and for the time forms part of the controlled vessel. The stern of the vessel A to be propelled &c. is V-shaped and receives the stem of the thruster B in which the boilers and machinery are fitted. The wedge-like stem of the thruster is fitted with horizontal ribs n while the walls of the stern of the vessel A have mats of braided cord or preferably projecting pieces p of wood. Adjustable tenons t secure the two vessels, while additional tenons i engage in grooves C<1>, C<11> of the propelled vessel. Further connexion consists in fitting to the vessel A halfround vertical swellings R which are adapted to engage with the hooks P, Fig. 3.
