Abstract

1,166,936. Lamp-holders. BRITISH GENERAL MFG. CO. Ltd. 2 April, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 22099/67. Heading H2E. In a lamp-holder incorporating an insulating material (e.g. nylon) push-bar switch 17, one spring-loaded plunger 5 is connected to one terminal 10 by a strip 11, whilst the other plunger 4 and other terminal 9 are connected by profiled leaf-spring contacts 12 and 13 engaging the ends of a cylindrical contact 20 mounted in the push-bar 17. The contact 20 slightly overlaps the bottom of a pair of V-shaped detents 19, with another pair, 18, to accommodate the spring contacts when in the "off" position. The lug 14 of the contact 12 may have a lobe 21 which abuts against the body 1 to prevent angular displacement, and the push-bar displacement may be limited by ears 22 (Fig. 2, not shown), on the underside of the bar 17.
