Abstract

1,223,566. Ignition interrupters. JOSEPH LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd. 31 July, 1968 [29 Aug., 1967], No. 39424/67. Heading HlN. In a contact breaker of a rotary distributer the moving contact arm consists of a pivotal insulating member 11 and a metal contact unit 17 which is a snap fit thereon. The insulating member 11 is formed with a cam follower 13; a pair of resilient arms into which fits the pivot post; a ramp 27 and a recess 26. The contact unit 17 is U-shaped, one leg 18 having an extension 22 carrying the moving contact and a lug 28 which engages the ram 27 and then the recess 26 as unit 17 is push fitted to member 11. A blade spring 24, forming a connection to the contact 23 and urging the contacts into engagement, is clamped between the parts 11, 17, its end 24a being bent to provide location; alternatively the end of the spring may have a square hole (33) (Fig. 6, not shown) into which fits a square projection (29) of leg 19.
