A method of making rubberized textile filamentary fabric comprises feeding a plurality of textile filaments 7 located side-by-side in substantially parallel relationship to one another end-on into a nip formed between a pair of rotatable rolls 1 and 2, concurrently feeding at least one layer 5 of unvulcanized rubber in a stretched condition into the nip, rotating the rolls to form a strip of rubberized fabric having the said filaments extending longitudinally of the strip and relaxing said strip to longitudinally compress the filaments in the strip. The filamentary layer may be enclosed between two unvulcanized layers 5. The unvulcanized rubber is stretched by feeding it over rolls 9 and 10 rotating more slowly than rolls 1 and 2, and the relaxation of the strip is effected by feeding it over rolls 17a and 17b rotating at a speed intermediate to rolls 9 and 10 and rolls 1 and 2. A liner 12 may be temporarily laminated to the rubber. The fabric together with liner is batched on spool 20 which may be removed and placed in a curing oven prior to removal of the liner. Alternatively, a curing oven may be located between the nip rolls and the batching means.
