Abstract

1,011,858. Moulding rubber belts; laminates. PIRELLI, S.p.A. May 24, 1962 [Aug. 5, 1961], No. 19950/62. Headings B5A and B5N. [Also in Division F2] In a process for the manufacture of toothed rubber belts, a rubberized fabric 21 is disposed on a building drum 9 provided with teeth 11 and preformed structures 10 of extruded rubber are placed on the fabric 21 and pressed into the spaces between the teeth 11. A flexible tape 12 carried on rollers 13 ... 17 maintains the fabric 11 and structure 10 in engagement with the roller 9. A resistant insertion in the form of metal wires 4 is then applied and covered with a rubber layer 7 and the whole subsequently vulcanized in situ on the drum 9.
