Abstract

1,166,343. Moulding valve seating ring. SAUNDERS VALVE CO. Ltd. 12 Feb., 1968 [20 Feb., 1967], No. 7997/67. Heading B5A. A moulded ball valve seating ring 16 is finished to desired dimensional tolerances in a jig comprising a nut 17 in which is screwed a member 11, 12, 13, having a spherical portion 11 which abuts the ring 16 to which is attached the thrust ring 15. Axial movement of the ring 15 by tightening the nut 17 causes cold-flow of the plastics material of the ring 16. The nut could be replaced by hydraulically operated means.
