Abstract

1,253,430. Valves. SAUNDERS VALVE CO. Ltd. 8 July, 1970 [14 July, 1969], No. 35250/69. Heading F2V. A seating ring 10 of a butterfly valve is moulded with a cruciform section and is of such a diameter that the central portion has to be stretched radially to fit on the shoulders 12 of a casing body 1 and a casing flange 2. The outer portion 18 of the ring is compressed between the body and flange while the central portion and inner seat portion 16 have clearances 14, 15, 16, 17 with the body and flange.
