Abstract

1,165,707. Corrugated laminates. NEW MERTON BOARD MILLS Ltd. 8 Nov., 1966 [10 Nov., 1965; 31 Jan., 1966], Nos. 47818/65 and 4200/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division D1] A paper or board web 1 which has been corrugated by rolls 2, 3 (see Division D1) is held in contact with the roll 3 until it passes between the roll 3 and a plain surface roll 8 by an arcuate guide 5 forming part of a body 6 provided with temperature control means. A liner web 7 of kraft paper previously coated with adhesive is fed into the nip between the rolls 3, 8 and adheres to the web 1. Alternatively, adhesive may be applied to the corrugations of the web 1. A second liner web 11 may be applied to the other face of the web 1. The roll 8 may be heated, the web 7 may be preheated and the composite web may be post-heated through an arc 10.
