Abstract
116,565. Maudslay, R. W., and Standard Motor Co. June 25, 1917. Lift valves.-A screw-actuated lift valve E, for admitting air to the induction pipe of an internalcombustion engine through a tube A which actuates the throttle valve, comprises a screwed sleeve M secured to the tube A and having a conical seating for a valve Q carried by the cap or knob E which screws over the sleeve M and is provided with inlet apertures R. A spring ring P prevents accidental rotation. In a modified construction, the seating is formed in the cap and the valve is fixed.
