Abstract

1,165,311. Dyestuff preparations. SANDOZ Ltd. 18 Jan., 1968 [24 Jan., 1967], No. 2851/68. Heading D1B. Liquid dye preparations contain in each 100 parts by weight, water, 5-40 parts of at least one salt of a water soluble anionic dye and as sole organic solvent an alcohol of formula R-(O-alkylene) n -OH in which R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical of 1-5 carbon atoms, alkylene is an alkylene radical of 2-4 carbon atoms and n is an integer 1-4 the ratio of the weight of the dye to the weight of the alcohol being not greater than 1.2 to 1. Preferably the dye has at least one sulphonic acid group, or is a 2:1 metal complex dye, and the alcohol is diethylene glycol which may be mixed with 2-methoxy-ethanol optionally dispersing agents may be present.
