Abstract

1,165,246. Syringe packages. BECTON, DICKINSON & CO. 2 June, 1967 [21 June, 1966}, No. 25680/67. Heading A5R. [Also in Division B8] A container for a syringe 44 includes an enlarged head portion which diminishes from a maximum height adjacent the syringe plunger end towards the sides 45 of the head so that removal of the syringe is facilitated. The container is closed by a strip, heat sealed to' a flange 23, the strip being optionally permeable by sterilizing gas. As an alternative it may 'be impermeable and radiation may be used to sterilize. The flange may 'be extended by walls lying parallel to the head side walls 46, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) to stiffen the package.
