Abstract

1,220,959. Sterile packaging. SERES SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE REALISATIONS D'EMBALLAGES STERILES. 26 June, 1968 [7 Aug., 1967; 23 March, 1968], No. 30440/68. Heading B8C. A sealed enclosure 32 is internally divided by a partition 33 into a sterile packaging chamber 34 and a chamber 35 which serves as an access lock. The sterile chamber 34 has a top opening (36), Fig. 1 (not shown), closed by a cover (37), to allow the vertical introduction of a packaging machine 6. Packages 20 are conveyed out of the bottom of the sterile chamber 34 through a sterilizing liquid which acts as a seal for the bottom opening. The controls for the packaging machine are located in the access lock 35. Two plastics packaging films are fed into the enclosure and sterilized by U.V. lamp before introduction into the packaging machine.
