Abstract

1,165,021. Electric water heaters. SANTON Ltd. 23 June, 1967 [23 June, 1966], No. 28037/66. Heading F4A. In a water heater comprising a hot water storage container which is provided with electric heating elements and which is located within and spaced from an outer casing, polyurethane is foamed in situ in the space between the container and casing for insulation and strengthening purposes. As illustrated, the container 7 and a feed cistern 5 are located within the casing. Container inlet and outlet pipes 9 and 10 serve to locate the container within the casing. The polyurethane insulation 8 is introduced through openings, Fig. 1 (not shown), in the casing. The cistern may be omitted from the casing.
