Abstract

1,163,661. Ventilators. W. G. MADDISON. 8 May, 1968 [10 Feb., 1967], No. 6560/67. Heading F4V. A louvre window comprises two adjacent units mounted in a frame 10 each having louvres 17 of wire-reinforced transparent P.V.C. sheet riveted at their ends to the inturned legs 14, 15 of two channel-shaped jambs. Each unit may include a mullion intermediate the louvre ends. The height of each unit may be pre-adjusted by removing the lower part of the jambs and of a vertical lower louvre 24. The jambs are made of galvanized steel, aluminium alloy or from P.V.C. sheet, and the outer leg 15 of each may be removed above the top louvre 17. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the inner margin 18 of the topmost louvre is downturned and the jambs terminate level with the upper surface of this louvre.
