Abstract

1,005,220. Louvre shutters. LOUVERDRAPE Inc. May 17, 1962 [March 12, 1962], No. 19036/62. Heading E1J. Cloth slats 22 (Fig. 1) are suspended vertically between spring-loaded clips 38 slotted in pinion wheels 32 (Fig. 8) rotatably fitted in upper and lower channels 20, and operated by L-sectioned racks 44 (Figs. 3, 10) which are driven by a block 52, operated in turn by a pulley wheel 70, 72 attached to a threaded shaft 60 running in a threaded bore 58 in the block 52. The channels have ribs 26 projecting inwards from each side wall which locate one leg of each rack, the block 52 having grooves 54 to slide over these ribs. The upper discs of the pinion wheels 32 have flattened edges to fit between the ribs, and the channels 20 may be located on window frame members by releasable fastenings 84.
