Abstract
1,163,150. Vehicle loading apparatus. BROWN'S AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY CO. Ltd. 5 April, 1968 [10 Jan., 1967], No. 56850/66. Heading B8E. An L-shaped carrier member 12, 19 may be detachably pivotally attached to a trailer 10 to pick up a load, e.g. of stacked bales. The attachment is by lugs 21 on the carrier entering between lugs 32, 33 on the trailer and being engaged by spring-loaded bolts 22 withdrawable by a wire 38 actuated by a linkage 39, 40. In use, with the carrier in the position of Fig. 2, the trailer is backed until alignment caused by guides 41 the lugs 21 enter between the lugs 32, 33 and the bolts 22 are released to effect the pivoted attachment. Extension of a piston cylinder 25, 26 brings a pin 24 into engagement with keeper elements on the carrier which can then be pivoted to a horizontal transport position. The angle elements 20 of the part 19 of the carrier can be forced under a stack of bales to pick them up or another load can be put thereon. A frame 43 prevents the load moving forwards of the carrier during transport. One carrier may be left for loading by detachment thereof while the trailer is used for the transport of another loaded carrier.
