Abstract

1,162,611. Cable terminations. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 20 March, 1968 [20 March, 1967], No. 13056/67. Heading H2E. A moisture proof end seal for metal sheathed cables comprises an end plug 4 of solid moisture proof electrically insulating material, e.g. porcelain, through which one or more conductors 2 extend. As shown, a peripheral groove 7 is formed in the plug to secure it to the metal sheath 1. The joints between the sheath and plug and conductor(s) and plug are sealed with an electrically insulating material, e.g. epoxy resin or silicone.
