A marine fender assembly (e.g. for attachment to a pier 4) comprises a number of buffer units 1 of elastic material each having an anchor plate 7 parallel to its impact-receiving surface and a number of impact receiving members 10 mounted on and extending across the impactreceiving surfaces of the buffer units and means 8, 9 for connecting the anchor plates 7 to the impact-receiving members 10.
