[Also in Division E2] In an angularly adjustable backrest assembly for a vehicle seat, in which an adjustable stay 9, 10 determines the angle of inclination of a link 7, pivoted coaxially with the backrest 4, a bolt 15 is releasable, from a notch 20 in the link, to allow the backrest to be folded forwardly, without moving the link. Bolt 15 slides between guides 14, on the upper edge of link 7 and, on returning the backrest to the upright position, is urged, by spring 22, to re-engage notch 20.
