Abstract

1,161,974. Crystalline alumino-silicate. MOBIL OIL CORPORATION. 10 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 17330/68. Heading C1A. [Also in Division C5] A solid crystalline sodium aluminosilicate has the composition (in mole ratios):- 0À8-1 Na 2 O : Al 2 O 3 : 20-60 SiO 2 in its dehydrated form, the crystals being tetragonal, with a = 23.2 Š, and c = 19.9 Š. This is prepared by heating a reaction mixture of mole ratio composition SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 = 20 to 60; Na 2 O/Al 2 O 3 = at least one; [(CH 3 CH 2 CH 2 ) 4 N] 2 O/Al 2 O 3 = at least one; and H 2 O/(Na 2 O + [(CH 3 CH 2 CH 2 ) 4 - N] 2 O) = 5 to 50, at from 100‹ to 175‹ C. for from 5 to 60 days. The product is washed, dried and calcined at a temperature of from 100‹ to 600‹ C. for from 8 to 24 hours. The product may be ion exchanged with a solution containing mono-, di- or trivalent cations. The hydrogen, sodium, calcium, rare earth and silver forms of the aluminosilicate are described and claimed. These products may be used as catalysts in the cracking of liquid hydrocarbons. ([(CH 3 CH 2 CH 2 ) 4 N] 2 O represents the oxide derived from the quarternary propyl ammonium hydroxide.)
