Abstract

1,161,546. Dry shavers. E. MOECKL. 12 Jan., 1968 [13 Jan., 1967], No. 1794/68. Heading B4B. In a shaver having a shearing unit comprised by a cutter block 3 and a sheet 4, and a shutter 5a, 5b to cover and expose the shearing unit, the shutter is arrested in its closing position by means of a recess M on the shutter engaging a cam 8a on a metal bending spring 8 secured to the shearing head 1a. The shutter is held in its open position by means of the recess M engaging a cam 1b on the shearing head. The cutter block is driven by means of a pendulum 2 through a coupling consisting of a mushroom 2a, a pivoted coupling ring 6 and a spring 7. The shutter consists of two legs 5a, 5b provided externally with transverse ripples P, R and the leg 5b is provided internally with longitudinal ripples S. When the shutter is moved to its closing position, the cutter block moves in the direction C. The sheet 4 is held at one end 4a between the legs of the shutter and is supported slidably at the other end 4b. The hair particles are collected in the range of area X and removed by blowing through openings Z. The cutters with the exception of the cutting edges may be stratified with a dirt rejecting artificial resin.
