Abstract

1,161,378. Grinding. GUSTAV GOECKEL MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 29 Feb., 1968 [1 March, 1967], No. 9762/68. Heading B3D. The twisting of an angularly adjustable workholder 1 in a machine tool, such as a grinding machine, is diminished by transmitting torsional moments to the holder at at least two different places. As shown, an industrial knife 6 is ground by a grinding wheel 7, the holder 1 being angularly adjusted relative to the wheel by a crank 5 which turns it through gearing at each end. If desired, the gear shaft 10 may be turned at its centre point by a worm gear.
