Abstract

1,160,909. Chairs. GRYTHYTTANS STALMOBLER AB. 14 Nov., 1966, No. 50968/66. Heading A4J. [Also in Division F2] A rocking chair has its seat structure 1 secured by screws 22 to a bar 21 which is welded to the top of a torsion rod 20 at the centre thereof, the ends of the rod 20 being welded to plates 19 welded to the leg structure 2 of the chair, and bars 11, 12 forming part of the seat structure are fitted at their ends with curved bearings 24 which embrace cylindrical bodies 23 of nylon secured to the ends of the torsion rod 20 and disposed coaxial with the pivot axis thereof, which, it is stated, does not coincide with the geometric axis. The leg structure comprises two tubes bent at 15 to form two legs each and transverse bars 16, 17 interconnecting the legs. The seat and back are made of wooden ribs fastened to metal bars 5, 6 and 7, 8.
