Abstract

1,160,839. Electrophonic musical instrument. MOVIECOL ENTERPRISES Ltd. 2 April, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16619/67. Heading G5J. An electronic musical instrument comprises a keyboard consisting of flat fixed contacts 3 and 4 and a note selecting member consisting of a conducting tip 6 connected by a flexible lead 7 to an oscillator circuit within the instrument. The circuit of the device (Fig. 2, not shown) comprises an oscillator, amplifier with loud-speaker and a vibrato stage switched into circuit by a switch 10. Contacts 3 and 4 are each connected to different resistors in the oscillator to give different note outputs. An on-off switch 9 is provided on the body 1 of the instrument together with an output socket 11 for an external amplifier, a tuning control (24) in the oscillator (not shown) and a loud-speaker grill 8. An alternative form of note selecting member is described in which the contact is replaced by a group of contacts electrically connected together and which can be fitted to the fingers of a person playing the instrument.
