1,159,900. Controlling burners. FR. SAUTER AG FABRIK ELEKTR. APPARATE. 8 April, 1968 [6 April, 1967], No. 16850/68. Heading F4T. An ignition device for a gas burner which has flame supervision by control apparatus sensitive to ultra-violet light includes a series arrangement of a rectifier 2, charging resistor 3, switching diode 4, smoothing capacitor 5 and charging capacitor 6 to provide individual pulses to a transformer 9 and thus ignition pulses at an electrode 12, the pulse frequency being so matched to the response time of the flame detector that although the latter detects the ultra-violet radiation of the ignition sources it does not result in any switching operation of the flame detector relay.
