Abstract

1,158,988. Pre-heatable food package. R. WYON and W. P. LE VAN. 21 Oct., 1966 [23 Oct., 1965], No. 47137/66. Heading B8C. A food package intended for direct preheating as in an electric toaster, has walls of metal, e.g. aluminium foil, and heat and electrically insulating tear strips 20a, 20b adjacent the mouth. In use the tear strips project from the toaster, assisting withdrawal of the package. A corner is delineated by a crease 16 for tearing off prior to placing the package in the toaster. The strips may be of material folded in halves and adhered to both sides of the package, the portions adjacent the folds projecting to form the handling tabs.
