Abstract
1,157,845. Screw presses. MASCHINENFABRIK HASENCLEVER A.G. 1 Feb., 1967 [2 Feb., 1966], No. 4853/67. Heading B5F. A screw press is provided with a ram type drive motor 7 (Fig. 1) that is connected to the main screwed spindle 3 and flywheel 4, for operation of the tool slide 5, by an auxiliary screwed spindle 8 carrying the piston 10 of the motor 7 and meshing with a nut 15. By admitting air or liquid under pressure to the upper side of piston 10, the spindle 8, flywheel 4 and spindle 3 are rotated and moved downwardly to produce a pressure stroke of the tool slide 5. In Fig. 2 (not shown) a linkage system (19-22) connecting the spindle 8 and flywheel 4 permits limited axial displacement between these parts. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4, the auxiliary spindle 8 is secured at its upper end to the frame 1 and is disposed partially within the main spindle 3, the nut 15 for the auxiliary spindle being secured within the main spindle. The spindle 8 has a piston 30 fitting in a cylinder 31 forming an extension of the spindle 3. A tube 26 extends into and is spaced from the spindle 8 as at 27. Fluid under pressure is admitted to a compartment 23 below the piston 30 through the tube 26 to effect the downstroke of the spindle 3. For the upstroke fluid is admitted to a compartment 24 above the piston 30 through the space 27 and a port 28.
